Has your website been banned by Google?

Getting your website banned is a disaster for any business, even more so if that Search Engine happens to be Google.

Just imagine you wake up in the morning and your website has gone. This can ruin a business overnight. Imagine having had hundreds even thousands of site visitors every day and from one second to the next it’s all over.

Is there any way to get a site which has been banned resurrected and reinstated? The first think you should be aware of, is that you have no rights when it comes to getting banned or re listed. Google alone determines which sites they want on their Search Index and which sites they don’t want. If you have been banned and Google does not re instate your site there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.

You can only do two things:

1. Check your site and try to find out what could have caused Google to remove your site form their Index. Linking to sites with questionable reputation could be a reason, are you using link farms to increase your back links? This can be another nail in your sites coffin.

Are you using or have used Black Hat SEO techniques on your site? Only you will know the answer to that question, apart from Google of course and that is maybe why you find yourself without a site.

Have you crammed too many Keywords in your Tags and body text?

Did you try to hide your images and use them to display text messages instead?

How about your front and back ground colour of your site? Could that be a reason why you have been banned?  Well as you can see there is quite a bit to think about.

Make sure whatever you use in your endeavour to increase your sites ranking that you use only white hat SEO techniques and always keep within the WM guidelines of Google and other major Search Engines.

2. . If you know what caused the disappearance of your site or even if you have honestly no clue, send a letter to Google and explain your situation and apologize for whatever it is you did knowingly to your site and even if you have no idea why this has happened to you still apologize for the things you may have done rather innocently without being aware of the consequences. This may help you to receive some sympathy from Google, but there is no guarantee that it will result in you getting your site back. Even if you do, you most likely can kiss goodbye to all your rankings and if you get them back it will be a long time before you see your site again on page 1 if ever.

There are many who have lost their site and ultimately months and even years of hard work are wiped out overnight. The ultimate solution is if all else fails to make a new site. This may not be what you want to hear but it is often the only way to get back on to Page 1.

So what is the moral of the story? Do not offend Google or any other Search Engine important to you and your business. Millions have tried to fool or outmanoeuvre Google. One look at the graveyard of sites that have simply disappeared into the black hole of the Internet Galaxy is testimony enough.
