Website Traffic must lead to Conversion
Is getting Traffic to your Website enough?
Too many people are concerned with how much traffic they get to their website. Traffic is of course important. If your site has no or few visitors your site will not be a success. But even sites which have lots of traffic may not be that successful. What really matters is conversion. It’s a catch 22 situation. If your website has no traffic your business will not convert visitors to buyers. Both are important, Traffic and Conversion.
No doubt, Google is today the prime source of organic traffic flowing to websites. But do not just concentrate on Google Search. Google has more to offer and has more Search Options not just Web Search. It should be important for any website owner to see how the other Search mechanisms Google has can be used to enhance your website traffic and subsequently increase conversion.
The ultimate goal of every single website must be to convert site visitors to paying customers. But if a website can’t be found on the internet it will never have any site visitors and it will most certainly never have any paying customers. Visibility is important. Without your website being seen by people nothing will happen. This requires a strategy. Unfortunately like anything which requires some planning there is effort and time needed. Too many site owners are not willing to do anything to their sites since the day they paid for it. My advice to them is to switch them off and do without a website, because a website which is not worked on and cared for is bad publicity for the business and such a website will achieve exactly the opposite. It will put customers off rather than turn them on.
How and where can we find additional traffic for our websites?
YouTube
It may come as a surprise, but YouTube is the 2nd largest Search Engine on the Planet. If your website uses Video it is a must that you optimize your video content in order to maximize YouTube exposure and traffic coming form YouTube.
Give your video a descriptive title and make a professional description. Use complete sentences for your description, incorporating some of the Search Phrases for which you want to gain visibility. Use Description and Keyword Meta Data. Do not stuff your Tags with Keywords. Mentioning your Keywords over and over again will not help you to rank higher. If you have the time, participate on the social level as well and remember that YouTube can help you to improve your Google Rankings as well.
Include the word Video because users will use it as part of their Search. Do not forget to use links fairly early in your description. It is a must to use your thumbnails to the best effect. Use subtitles and captions all the way. Integrate with Google Maps.
Image Search
If you use a local Google Business Profile you should add images. Make sure that you activate Google Image Labeller in your Google Webmaster Tools account. Place images to local business reference sources. Use images for blog posts or news articles and syndicate for Google news.
